2017 NBA All-Star Weekend

The 2017 National Basketball Association held their 66th NBA All-Star weekend this past weekend. It was in New Orleans and their were many great moments that will be remembered for a while along with a record breaking all-star game. The game was relocated last minute from Charlotte to New Orleans, They have hosted it three times in the past nine years.

The Celebrity Game was and is never too serious, for the most part, and such was the case at the Superdome, even without Kevin Hart. the 5"3 comedian and four-time MVP winner skipped this year’s game, leaving it to Mark Cuban and a host of mostly actors and rappers to do it alone. Cuban and the West team were socked 88-59 by the East. Also, both teams engaged in the mannequin challenge just before the start of the second half and manage not to stumble. The MVP went out to Brandon Armstrong a former D-league player and now who is famous for impersonating professional basketball players. The real MVP may have been Jarrius Robertson, a 14-year-old battling a chronic liver disease who entered the game in the fourth quarter for the West, immediately drilling a jumper to cap off the best 1-for-1 shooting night you will ever see.

On Saturday night was the skills competition. the winner of the Taco Bell all skills challenge went to Kristaps Porzingis a big man for the New York Knicks. Eric Gordon beat out Steph Curry for the three point competition and the slam dunk winner went too Glen Robinson lll although the competition wasnt as entertaining as last years.

On Saturday night all players and celebrities shot threes where the money they raised would go to the Sager foundation and they raised 500 thousand dollars.

On Sunday the West took on the East and defeated them 192-182. Anthony Davis dropped a record breaking 52 points and beat Wilt Chamberlain's record by 10 points. Russel Westbrook proved he should have been a starter by dropping 40 points in only 20 minutes. He was on the same team as his old teammate who left him Kevin Durant.

This past weekend was one to remember as their are many great moments to remember after a very entertaining all star weekend.
